Have you ever wanted to photograph colorful exotic frogs and reptiles? Then join me for this exciting two day workshop as we explore this small but beautiful world of macro photography right here in Louisville Ky. You will have the opportunity to photograph between 30 to 40 live exotic Frogs and Reptiles, like the red eyed tree frog and colorful dart frogs and more. I will also have lots of still life subjects of exotic insects from my entire collection. I will also have my water drop system again to capture some beautiful waterdrop collisions from my Stop Shot Studio, and much much more.

*****New for this year will be a dedicated station for high magnification image stacking photography, with up to 5X magnification. I will have my Canon MPE65 lens mounted on a Cognisys mortorized macro rail for the ability to capture amazing images. (see images above of the dandelion clock with water drop and the black soldier fly eyes.

This workshop has been very popular over the past 14 years and sells out every year. There will be 3-4 shooting stations with real plants, flowers, leaves, and bark for natural looking backgrounds with the live animals. The results will be photos that appear to be taken in the wild, actually looking better than in the wild. You would have to travel to over ten different countries to find this array of colorful species. In some cases you will be shooting only inches away from some of these beautiful subjects with no glass to interfere with image or lighting quality. Once again, I will have a numerous stations with mirror set ups for gorgeous reflective surfaces with animals and other items placed on them.

Things you will learn but not limited to:
How to use flash perfectly when only inches from your subject.
How to protect the highlights from blowing out in your pictures.
How to get maximum depth of field and sharpness for small subjects.
Creating stunning images of exotic frogs, reptiles, water drops, exotic insects, and much much more.

Skill Level:
The workshop is open to people of all skill levels and experience. The majority of people shoot with either mirrorless cameras or digital SLRs, but this is not a pre-requisite for attending this workshop. Even the newer iPhones have great macro capabilities

Recommended Equipment:
I suggest a Macro lens or some way of focusing very close, such as extension tubes used with a telephoto lens.
Some sort of flash system, ring flash, speed light flash, or twin flash.
Compact flash cards and extra batteries for flashes.
Tripods are not needed for the macro portion, but feel free to bring one if you would like.

**Lastly, there is so much you can do here in the Bluegrass state if you decided to stay over for a few extra days. There are Bourbon Tours, Gorgeous Horse Farms not too far away, and much much more.
I would be happy to give you some suggestions if you would like.

A special booking link is on my website to receive a special discounted rate for your stay for attending this workshop. The hotel has also agreed to extend this discount if you choose to stay over a few additional days.
